Meet your Education Coach

Michelle Cancro is the dedicated director and owner of Palmetto Pathways to Literacy. She brings a wealth of experience to her coaching role as a seasoned Special Education teacher, tutor, and mom to three little ones.  

Michelle's journey in the special education field began in New Jersey, where she taught in the public school sector for over ten years.  In 2014, she relocated to South Carolina with her husband and began to grow her family. She continued teaching special education with Clover School District before deciding to pause as she raised her three children. Since then, she has been actively involved with her family while serving the community as a tutor, babysitter, and educator. 

Michelle possesses extensive training and expertise in the special education field but also in two prominent research-based literacy programs: Orton-Gillingham's accredited Structured Comprehensive Plus Literacy Approach and Wilson Learning Fundations Literacy Program.

She is excited to share her wisdom, patience, and understanding in her role as an education coach with Palmetto Pathways to help students build confidence and reach their education goals.
